HER STORY

Tamika Skye Domrow was born in Brisbane, Queensland, on 6 September 1989. Before taking up synchronised swimming, she was a swimmer and ballet dancer. The current Australian Olympic Committee profile says she started synchronised swimming at 10 at the Valley Pool in Brisbane; the archived London profile likewise records Brisbane as her home city and lists her age at the Games as 22. This combination of swimming and dance formed the starting point for her later elite career.

Her first recorded national breakthrough came in 2000, when she won the Under-12 duet at her first National Competition. The archived AOC profile says she had been on the national team since age 15, while the current AOC biography dates her joining the National Squad to 2005. Taken together, the sources document a progression from junior competition into the Australian senior pathway during her teenage years. The archived profile names Marina Kholod as her coach from 2005 through the London-era page and records seven years on the national team.

Domrow made her Olympic debut at Beijing 2008 at age 18 in Australia’s women’s team event. The International Olympic Committee’s athlete page records Australia seventh, and the AOC’s London archive calls seventh place a career highlight. She returned for London 2012, again in the team event; the current AOC profile and IOC results page record an eighth-place finish. The AOC’s London wrap-up names Domrow among the nine Australians who competed in the event and describes the team as placing eighth out of eight.

The archived London profile provides the clearest time-qualified club record: Gold Coast Mermaids was listed as her club, with Gold Coast as her primary training base. It also records that she and Jenny-Lyn Anderson placed fourth in the 2011 National Championships Open Free Duet and won gold in the Team Open Combination. The same profile says Domrow competed at the 2011 FINA World Championships in Shanghai, where Australia’s team qualified a London Olympic place; those non-Olympic results are included as career context, not as Olympic results in this profile.

The London-era AOC page documents Domrow’s education as Samford State School, St Paul’s School and a Certificate III in Companion Animal Services. It describes her as an avid animal lover and says she worked as a kennel technician at that time. These are historical biographical details, not claims about her present employment or activities. No opened authoritative source establishes a later sporting role, current club, current occupation, or current residence, so her present status is left unspecified.
